Many Beverly Hills and downtown LA drivers have to deal with damage to their vehicle’s bumper. If you have been involved in a collision or fender-bender that has damaged your bumper, you may be wondering about your options for car bumper repair. Wondering how to get a dent out of a car bumper or how to remove scratches from a car bumper? We can help you fix car bumper issues in just a few simple steps.

Fix Your Car Bumper

If you are not sure whether the damage is something you can handle on your own, you can always have your vehicle evaluated by a professional first. Car bumper repair costs can range from $50 for a few materials to do it yourself or up to $1,500 if the damage affects lights, sensors, or cameras on newer models.

How to Get a Dent Out of a Car Bumper

To fix car bumper dents, you will need a few tools:

  • A heat gun or hair dryer
  • A pry bar
  • A jack
  • Jack stands
  • Safety glasses
  • Gloves

Make sure that your vehicle is properly elevated. If your vehicle has a splash guard, it will need to be removed. Use the hair dryer or heat gun to warm up the affected area. Once the dented area has been warmed sufficiently, use the prybar to apply pressure to the dent from the inside out. Apply pressure to the deepest part of the dent first. Work through the dent in an even manner until the dent is less apparent entirely removed.

How to Remove Scratches from a Car Bumper

Car bumper repair for scratches is even easier to fix at home in Inglewood. All you need is a buffing compound, a drill, and a touch-up pen.

  • First, thoroughly clean the area that needs to be touched up.
  • Run your fingernail over the scratch to determine how deep the scratch is so you can buff it with your drill attachment accordingly. You may need to add a layer of clear coat.
  • Let the clear coat dry and then go in with the touch-up pen.
  • Make sure that the touch-up paint has fully dried before you drive the vehicle.
